Doek carefully assesses its projects for their originality, financial viability, and social impact to ensure they are run efficiently. The Doek Arts Trust works to secure project funding for its chosen initiatives while the CC is given a mandate to run the undertakings in a commercially sustainable manner.

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • Doek! Literary Magazine—Namibia’s first and only literary magazine.
  • Bank Windhoek Doek Literary Awards—biennial awards recognising writers, poets, and visual artists published in Doek! Literary Magazine.
  • Doek Literary Festival—a biennial literary festival in Namibian celebrating Namibian literature alongside literary artists from Africa and the African diaspora.
  • Doek Workshops—in-person workshops for Windhoek-based writers and visual artists focusing on fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art (photography, graphic design, and illustration).
  • Doek Collective—a biennial collective of emerging writers, poets, and visual artists from Namibia.
